Mike Tony Echols

Mike Tony Echols, has been on the DC metro area seen for at least the last 15 years!  He first started his musical aspirations when he was 16, initially with 2 years of classical piano. Then he heard some of his Dads old Motown, Hendrix, and Beatles collection and he was fascinated by the bass guitar on these albums.  He quickly turned his interest to the electric bass and began a mass musical absorption of  James Jamerson, Paul MCcartny, Geddy Lee, Stanley Clark, Jack Bruce, Larry Graham, Jaco Pastorius, Ray Brown, and most recently, Victor Wooten, Flea, Les Claypool, Oteil Burbigde just to name a few. Armed with many styles, and plenty of chops 'Tony' as he is affectionately known loves to lay down deep smouldering grooves. Cause if you can't hold a groove you surely won't have any pocket!
